Buenos Aires, October 17, 2008– Petrobras Energía Participaciones S.A. (Buenos Aires: PBE, NYSE: PZE) informs that at the meeting held on October 16, 2008, the Company’s Board of Directors considered and resolved to accept Vilson Reichemback da Silva’s resignation from his position as Regular Director, effective as of that date, since he has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Petrobras Chile Petrolera Ltda.

On account of the beforementioned vacancy, the Board of Directors’ members took notice that Alternate Director Héctor Daniel Casal took over as Regular Director until the next Shareholders’ Meeting.
