Item 1.01. Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On January 11, 2008, a subsidiary of Altera Corporation (“Altera”), Altera Corporation (M) SDN. BHD. (“Altera Malaysia”), entered into a letter of acceptance of a construction contract (the “Letter of Acceptance”) by and among Altera Malaysia, B.L. Tay Architect on behalf of Altera Malaysia, and Nakano Construction SDN. BHD. (“Nakano Construction”).
The Letter of Acceptance provides for the construction of an additional building located on the same property as Altera’s existing design and test facility in Penang, Malaysia. Nakano Construction will receive a fixed lump sum of RM70,600,000.00 (Ringgit Malaysia), or approximately $21.6 million US dollars.
