Portugal Telecom announces the suspension of the AGM
Lisbon, Portugal, 1 April 2005 - Portugal Telecom, SGPS, S.A. (PT) announces that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) started today was suspended, following the proposal of the Portuguese State, in its capacity as a shareholder, in order to allow for an additional period to assess its position with regard to the issues of the agenda to be presented, given their relevance.
With the approval of this proposal, the AGM was suspended until 29 April 2005 at 15h00.
Shareholders of PT that had locked their shares to participate in the AGM may unlock such shares. In order to participate in the continuation of the AGM, shareholders must provide evidence of the ownership of their shares, with the corresponding lockup of such shares, by 14 April 2005.
