Washington state company showcases it patented ground-breaking residential wood boiler technology. Greenwood’s cloud-enabled wood boiler delivers long term high performance, low maintenance and energy saving benefits to rural and small town homeowners.
REDMOND, Wash. - Oct. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- In honor of National Bioenergy Day, Greenwood Clean Energy opened the doors of its Development and Innovation Center in Redmond, WA today to local residents, industry partners and public officials inviting them to come and learn more about an industry that provides significant environmental, energy, economic and social benefits.

Greenwood Clean Energy was one of more than 60 groups that participated in an event in the United States and Canada to raise awareness about bioenergy. National Bioenergy Day participants include businesses representing all types of bioenergy – power, thermal and fuels – from a broad base of advocates that range from businesses to state and local governments and universities.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has continued to support bioenergy’s role in protecting the health of forests on federal lands, saying, "Renewable wood energy is part of the Obama Administration's 'all of the above' energy strategy. The Forest Service works with its partners to support the development of wood energy projects that promote sound forest management, expand regional economies and create new rural jobs."

Bioenergy refers to energy – often space heat or electricity – that is produced from wood and other organic materials. Approximately 23% of all renewable energy consumed is from wood (EIA, 2013) – more than wind and solar combined.

“Bioenergy contributes a great deal to the rural economy and helps keep forests, the forest products industry, and most importantly, our forest communities healthy and strong,” said Michael Kuehner, President/CEO of Greenwood Clean Energy.

As the first and only residential log wood boiler that meets the strict Washington State emission standards, the patented Greenwood Frontier CX is in a new class of smart appliances that represent the future of the residential bioenergy or wood-fired central heating industry. Homeowners now have a cost effective option to heat their home and hot water using a local, renewable resource.

At today’s event, attendees were able to experience Greenwood’s ground-breaking wood boiler that:

     * Delivers industry-leading low emission performance,
     * Produces domestic energy from local low-value timber,
     * Saves homeowners 80% on their annual home heating bills, and
     * Stimulates the local economy through jobs, savings, and renewable resource utilization.
