Apple is latest tech giant to tell employees to stay home as Bay Area coronavirus cases surge

Apple has asked all employees to work from home if possible as a precaution against the coronavirus outbreak. The directive follows similar orders by Facebook, Google, Microsoft and other large tech companies and comes as the Bay Area contends with 45 known coronavirus cases — up from 36 as of late Thursday — including 20 in Santa Clara County.
