Brandon, Manitoba Jan 20, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - College Hockey Family Advisor (CHFA) is pleased to announce that another key player has been added to their robust team.
Marc Cheverie, the all-star goaltender with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), recently signed on as a Goalie Advisor and Consultant. CHFA now has 10 advisors in North America and six in Europe specializing in the player placement and guiding players and their families through the process.
"Marc has an amazing hockey history playing with various teams and leagues. This experience is invaluable and will be a tremendous support when guiding and advising today's young net-minders. We're looking forward to having him on board," said Darryl Wolski, 2112 Hockey Group President.
Originally from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Cheverie had a solid professional hockey career that spanned over 14 years. He chalked up a number of career highlights, including Goaltending Champion and Player of the Year, while playing for three seasons with the University of Denver Pioneers in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
After spending some time in East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and American Hockey League (AHL), Cheverie signed a two-year agreement with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
In his new role with CHFA, the 33-year-old will assist goalies with coaching, mental preparation, camp assistance, guidance on what it takes to be an NCAA goalie, and student-athlete and will mentor the players to help them reach their full potential.
Even as the coronavirus pandemic has caused a temporary halt to sports and sporting events at nearly all levels of play around the world, a number of leagues are still active in the United States including the USHL, NAHL, NCDC, NA3HL, and the USPHL. "This means we're still actively pursuing placement for players despite COVID-19. We look forward though to when things can get back to normal," said Wolski.
