Smiths Detection today announces the formal launch of FirstView® iSC3 security platform, a powerful network based software solution that enables advanced management of security systems, including cameras and sensors.
It is currently being used in the most mission-critical applications by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to secure a wide range of assets and to protect the public from terrorism.

FirstView iSC3 provides key functionality to meet a wide range of security management needs, while providing a seamless upgrade path for future expansion. Core capabilities available include:
- Digital Video Management - Manage thousands of analog or IP cameras with fluid PTZ controls and hierarchical user levels.
- Network Video Recording - Record any video stream from anywhere on the network with flexibility and scalability.
- GIS/Mapping - Interface with a variety of standard or customized maps to overlay camera and sensor locations.
- Alarm Management - Input alarms from any supported sensor system or security device and intuitively view or analyze events.

- Video Analytics - Integrated with video analytics algorithms for enhanced or automated intelligence.
- CBRNE- PROTECT™ - Crisis management software supporting several proven CBRNE sensors.
- X-ray - Provides real-time viewing of images from networked X-Ray machines and transfer of high resolution files.

FirstView iSC3 will be on display in Smiths Detection’s Booth (#2511) at the ASIS International 2008 Expo, September 15-18, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.
