CITIC PRUDENTIAL AWARDED LIFE INSURANCE LICENCES FOR JIANGMEN AND WUXI IN CHINA

Prudential plc (Prudential) announced today that its life insurance joint
venture, CITIC Prudential, has been awarded life insurance licences for Jiangmen
in Guangdong Province and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province - bringing its total life
licences in China to 13.

Jiangmen has a population of 4 million and is CITIC Prudential's sixth city
licence in Guangdong Province. Wuxi has a population of 4.5 million and is CITIC
Prudential's third city licence in Jiangsu Province.
