        ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE COMPANY

Signet Group plc gives notice that at its Annual General  Meeting held on Friday
9 June 2006 all the resolutions proposed to shareholders were approved by way of
a show of hands.

Proxy voting figures can be found on the Company's website at
www.signetgroupplc.com.

Copies of the special business  resolutions passed at the Annual General Meeting
have been  submitted to the UK Listing  Authority  and will shortly be available
for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility, which is
