I give below details of changes in the interests of Dr M Slaoui, a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility, in the Ordinary shares of GlaxoSmithKline plc following transactions in the shares of a connected person, as follows:-

The partial vesting of a Performance Share Plan award (the "Award") made in 2006 to Dr Slaoui's connected person has resulted in the vesting of 1,200 Ordinary shares. The balance of the Award lapsed. |
The Company and Dr Slaoui's connected person were advised of these transactions on 19 February 2009.
This notification relates to a transaction notified in
accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a).
