NOTICE TO THE MARKET



 

Telefônica Brasil S.A. (“Company”) hereby informs its shareholders and the market that has signed a contract to provide Nextel wholesale voice and data services in Brazil.

 

In accordance with this contract, Nextel in Brazil will shortly be able to use the Company´s 2G and 3G networks. However, spectrum and network assets will continue to be managed separately by each operator.

 

This contract is a natural step forward in the network optimization process in the country and demonstrates the commitment of both operators to creating a dynamic competitive environment. 

 

The contract is part of the Company’s initiatives for increasing efficiency of use and deployment of 3G network, resulting in better capital allocation and business margins.
