ITEM 5.02 DEPARTURE OF DIRECTORS OR CERTAIN OFFICERS; ELECTION OF DIRECTORS; APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN OFFICERS; COMPENSATORY ARRANGEMENTS OF CERTAIN OFFICERS.
On August 18, 2010, Atwood Oceanics, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that Mr. Ronald L. (Ronnie) Hall, Vice President, Operations plans to retire from the Company effective December 15, 2010. Mr. Hall advised the Company of his decision on August 17, 2010. There were no changes to the terms of employment of Mr. Hall in connection with his impending retirement. The Company has engaged an executive search firm to assist with evaluation and recruitment of a suitable successor candidate.
