As operating costs continue to challenge small businesses across the United States, the Department of Financial Recovery (DFR) has introduced the Monthly Authorization Processing Fee (MAPF) program.

DFR is an independent organization, not a government agency, and the initiative is designed to help eligible businesses recover a portion of their monthly credit card authorization processing costs through a secure reimbursement process.

Reducing a Common Business Expense

Credit card authorization fees are a recurring operating expense for many small businesses. The MAPF program was created to help ease part of that burden by reimbursing 30% to 75% of eligible monthly authorization processing fees, with total reimbursement of up to $35,000 per approved business.

Rather than introducing another financing option, the program focuses on helping qualified businesses reduce an existing operating cost.

Who Can Apply?

MAPF is available to eligible U.S. businesses with 100 employees or fewer that primarily operate in the United States. Applicants must also demonstrate that suitable financing is not reasonably available through non-federal, non-state, and non-local government sources. Agricultural businesses are not eligible.

Applying for MAPF

Applications are submitted through DFR's secure online merchant portal. The process includes digital identity verification followed by an electronic signature from an authorized business representative to complete the application.

All application updates are delivered directly to the registered business email address to help protect applicant information throughout the review process.
