General Pump Company president elevated to lead Sylmar's utility services platform

Sylmar today announced that Tim Oman, President of General Pump Company (GPC), has been named President of Sylmar Utility Services, the platform company for GPC, Water Well Solutions (WWS), Airburst, CasingGuard, and related technologies.

Beginning with the acquisition of General Pump Company in 2022, Sylmar has become one of the fastest-growing critical water infrastructure service and technology firms in the country. With 420 employees serving over 2500 customers — including some of the nation's largest water utilities — Sylmar companies maintain infrastructure that delivers billions of gallons of water annually.

"Tim is one of the great leaders in our industry, and I'm excited to see him step into this new role," said Peter Brooks, Sylmar's Co-founder and CEO. "Sylmar is building the future of water by assembling the best team of water professionals, led by experienced, knowledgeable servant-leaders who put our people and our customers first."

Oman holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and brings nearly two decades of water-industry experience across technical, sales, general management, and senior leadership roles.

"This industry runs on skilled people doing hard, essential work, and Sylmar has assembled some of the best," said Oman. "GPC is approaching seventy-five years of keeping water flowing for the communities and industries that depend on it. Water Well Solutions and Airburst carry that same legacy in their markets. I can't think of a better mission, or a better team, to build around."

Oman joins a Utility Services leadership team that includes Brian Snelten, WWS President and former President of the National Ground Water Association; Mike Kerper, President of Airburst; and Jamil Assaf, Sylmar VP of Finance.

In addition to overall leadership of the platform, Oman will be responsible for deploying common operating systems and new technologies, and for pursuing growth investments in new geographies and service verticals serving Sylmar's expanding base of water utility, industrial, and agricultural customers.
