Users can then compare these prices against their out-of-pocket payments using their insurance or Medicare, and select the option that gives them maximum savings.
Unlike traditional insurance which requires premium payments, CareCard is available for free in the United States and Puerto Rico, providing another avenue for cost savings. Subscribers can also receive free coupons for certain prescriptions through the app. To enjoy discounts and get instant savings, users simply have to present their card and coupons upon checking out at the pharmacy.
CareCard is accepted at more than 60,000 pharmacies across the US and Puerto Rico, including CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, Rite Aid, Publix, Duane Reade, and more. It may also be used with several mail-order companies.
