US Prescription Discount Card with Coupons for Medicare, Uninsured: Announced

CareCard, a prescription discount card available throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, was recently launched as a supplement or alternative to traditional drug insurance.

CareCard was launched to provide substantial prescription cost savings to all interested parties, including patients who have traditional medical insurance, are Medicare members, or have no coverage of any kind. The card may be downloaded as a mobile app or printed out from the provider’s website.

According to a spokesperson from CareCard, subscribers often get greater cost savings when using the card than when using traditional insurance or Medicare. This is especially significant in the last decade as insurance companies have started passing 25 to 80 percent more of the cost of prescription drugs to patients.

Medicare members can still use CareCard and potentially enjoy greater savings. While medicines purchased using CareCard will not count toward Medicare deductibles, the discount card presents a convenient solution to Medicare members who are currently caught in the donut hole of their coverage.

CareCard subscribers who simultaneously have prescription drug insurance or Medicare coverage can use the app to find the best option for them. All they need to do is enter their needed medication and zip code into the app, and the app will show discounted prices from various pharmacies within the area. Users can then compare these prices against their out-of-pocket payments using their insurance or Medicare, and select the option that gives them maximum savings.

Unlike traditional insurance which requires premium payments, CareCard is available for free in the United States and Puerto Rico, providing another avenue for cost savings. Subscribers can also receive free coupons for certain prescriptions through the app. To enjoy discounts and get instant savings, users simply have to present their card and coupons upon checking out at the pharmacy.

CareCard is accepted at more than 60,000 pharmacies across the US and Puerto Rico, including CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, Rite Aid, Publix, Duane Reade, and more. It may also be used with several mail-order companies.

Another advantage of CareCard is that the subscriber's entire family may also enjoy prescription discounts using the card. Pet medications may also be covered.
