The Crypto-V Alliance is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cryptographic assurance through validation, education, research, and collaboration. The Alliance brings together experts from academia, industry, government, accredited testing laboratories, certification bodies, and the broader cybersecurity community to promote the understanding, implementation, validation, and deployment of trustworthy cryptographic technologies.

The website serves as the primary hub for information about the Alliance's initiatives, educational resources, and events, including its inaugural conference, FIPS 'n' Chips, which will take place October 26-27, 2026, at The University of Texas at Austin.

FIPS 'n' Chips is a two-day conference focused on cryptographic module validation and the technologies, standards, testing methodologies, and certification processes that underpin trusted cryptographic modules. The conference will bring together leading experts from academia, industry, government, testing laboratories, and certification bodies to discuss the evolving landscape of cryptographic assurance.

The Alliance also announced that the Call for Presentations for FIPS 'n' Chips remains open through August 1, 2026. Researchers, practitioners, and industry experts are encouraged to submit presentation proposals for consideration.

Presentation proposals can be submitted at: https://crypto-v.org/fnc2026/call-for-presentations/

The conference comes at an especially significant time for the cybersecurity community. Executive Order 14412, issued in June 2026, specifically references the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP), FIPS 140-3, and the importance of deploying FIPS-validated cryptographic products throughout the federal government. These developments underscore the growing importance of cryptographic validation and assurance in protecting critical systems and infrastructure.

More information about the Executive Order is available at: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/06/securing-the-nation-against-advanced-cryptographic-attacks/

In conjunction with the conference, the companion book, Tasting Cryptography: FIPS 'n' Chips, is now available for pre-order through major booksellers, including Amazon. The book provides a practical guide to cryptographic standards, cryptographic module validation, testing methodologies, implementation challenges, and industry best practices, making it a valuable resource for engineers, developers, validators, and security professionals.
