Property Market Recovery and “Experiential Shopping” Culture Propel Record-Breaking Results on 15th Anniversary

(June 28, 2026, Hong Kong) – Organised by Exhibition Group, Hong Kong’s largest one-stop home exhibition open to the public, “In-Home Expo 2026” (the “Expo”), concluded today at Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing over 400,000 visitors across four days (25–28 June) — marking the second consecutive year the milestone has been reached. On the occasion of the Expo’s 15th anniversary, exhibitors across all seven themed zones widely reported strong on-site transactions, underscoring sustained consumer confidence in the physical exhibition format.

With summer’s peak renovation, move-in, and rental season in full swing, the Expo’s seven themed zones — spanning over 900 booths — offered a complete home-living ecosystem. From building materials and smart home appliances to senior care technology and custom furniture, the show floor gave visitors rare hands-on access to an entire spectrum of home products under one roof. Many visitors remarked that when it comes to renovation decisions, nothing replaces the ability to assess a product’s texture, scale, and finish in person — a confidence that online platforms simply cannot replicate.

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) participated in the In-Home Expo for the first time this year. Ms. Debbie Cheung, Vice President of Retail Marketing and Business Development, said that results exceeded expectations in both sales and product promotion. “Towngas has traditionally focused on cookers and kitchen cabinets, and in recent years has expanded into custom furniture services. The footfall at this year’s Expo was exceptional, and visitors closely matched our target customer profile, generating considerable business. Our retail showrooms have limited display space, and online platforms cannot replicate a hands-on experience — this exhibition gave us the room to properly introduce our newest services to customers. The results have been very satisfying.”

This year, the “Senior Living Pavilion” was comprehensively upgraded into an integrated platform combining product experience, professional seminars, and health assessments, with a focus on the innovative application of AI Smart Elderly Care Technology. The pavilion showcased cutting-edge products including AI smart mattresses, walking-assist robots, and electric nursing transfer lifts, attracting large numbers of family visitors. The organisers introduced a special offer allowing persons aged 65 or above to enter free of charge, encouraging many younger visitors to bring their parents or grandparents to the venue to select suitable gerontechnology products for their elderly family members. The pavilion drew a notably high proportion of intergenerational family visitors, with younger attendees actively exploring AI elderly care solutions on behalf of their parents and grandparents — a clear signal that ageing in place has become a defining concern for Hong Kong families.

Mr. Carl Wong, Chairman of Exhibition Group, said: “Reaching 400,000 visitors on our 15th anniversary is a genuinely encouraging result — one that reflects not just footfall, but the deep trust Hong Kong families place in the physical exhibition experience. When it comes to the kind of major, considered purchases that define a home, the ability to see, touch, and compare in person is irreplaceable. What stood out most to us this year was the Senior Living Pavilion: the sight of families — three generations together — exploring AI elderly care solutions was deeply meaningful. This is the spirit driving the silver economy, and it is exactly the kind of purposeful experience we want the Expo to facilitate. We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum.”
