The expansion builds on nearly two decades of professional practice through SANO (Sociedad de Arquitectura Nómade), the architecture and urban design studio founded by Aloi in 2006.

-- Lisandro Aloi, Argentine architect and Country Representative for Argentina and Secretary for Latin America within the International Region of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a role he says he is proud and honored to hold, announced the expansion of his cross-border architecture, urban design and real estate development activities across Latin America, strengthening an international portfolio that spans multiple countries and project sectors.

The initiative reflects growing demand for integrated planning, architecture and development strategies in emerging and established markets throughout the region.

The practice currently maintains active and completed projects across Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Italy and the United States, encompassing residential developments, hospitality projects, urban master plans, commercial facilities and mixed-use initiatives. Recent activity has focused on expanding collaboration opportunities in Latin America while advancing projects that combine architecture, landscape design and long-term urban planning. Building multidisciplinary teams with artists and landscape designers is a particular area of expertise for Aloi, who has also taught urbanism and design for more than 12 years.

Among the firm's international portfolio are large-scale planning and development initiatives in Uruguay, hospitality and residential ventures in Costa Rica, commercial and corporate projects in Ecuador, and urban planning studies in Europe. Current development efforts include ongoing work associated with Pueblo Punta Ballena in Uruguay, as well as continued expansion of residential and hospitality-related initiatives in Argentina and Costa Rica.

The expansion strategy targets additional opportunities throughout Latin America, with particular emphasis on markets experiencing growth in tourism, residential development and sustainable urban infrastructure. Aloi has lately shifted part of his focus toward consulting for major clients on large-scale projects and urban planning, an approach grounded in the view that improving architecture, deepening its connection to culture and pursuing better design ultimately delivers stronger business outcomes in real estate. The practice is also pursuing new partnerships with developers, municipalities, consultants and multidisciplinary design teams to support future projects across the region.

"Our work has always been informed by the idea that architecture can create meaningful connections between culture, landscape and economic development," said Lisandro Aloi, founder of SANO. "As our network of projects continues to grow across borders, we are focused on building partnerships that contribute to thoughtful and context-sensitive development."

The firm's international activities include architecture, master planning, urban design consulting and development advisory services. Through these initiatives, the practice seeks to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders from different countries while addressing the unique environmental, cultural and economic conditions of each project location.

Aloi's role within AIA International has also contributed to broader professional exchanges between architects and design professionals throughout the Americas and other global markets. His participation in international conferences and industry programs has supported knowledge-sharing efforts related to architecture, urbanization and sustainable development. Aloi is also continuing his career as an artist, a pursuit he credits with keeping him connected to a creative side that helps clear his mind while working in architecture and urbanism.

"The future of architecture increasingly depends on collaboration across disciplines and geographies," Aloi said. "Many of today's urban challenges are shared across borders, and international partnerships provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, improve planning strategies and strengthen the quality of development projects."

The expansion comes as Latin American cities continue to invest in urban regeneration, tourism infrastructure, housing development and mixed-use projects. Industry observers have noted increasing interest in integrated design approaches that combine architecture, urban planning and long-term economic sustainability.

With a growing international project pipeline and established relationships across multiple countries, Aloi's practice plans to continue advancing development opportunities that contribute to urban growth, regional connectivity and design innovation throughout Latin America.
