The site was built around a language gap rather than a medical one. Almost all consumer writing about these medications is published in English, and the Spanish version, where one exists at all, is usually machine-translated from it. MamaGLP writes each piece twice — every guide published in English is published in Spanish, and every provider review exists in both — so that a Spanish-speaking reader gets an article written for her rather than a translation of one written for somebody else. MamaGLP publishes GLP-1 guides and provider reviews for mothers in both English and Spanish, covering pregnancy, breastfeeding, fertility, postpartum, PCOS and menopause.
"There is an enormous amount published about these medications, and almost none of it is addressed to a mother, in her own language, with nothing being sold at the end of it," said Camila Rael, editor of MamaGLP. "We are a publisher, not a clinic. We do not have a clinical reviewer on staff, and we are not going to invent one. What we can do is cite the prescribing label or the published research for anything we say, show where every number came from, and tell readers to take the rest to their own doctor."
What a month actually costs
Most of MamaGLP's original work is commercial rather than clinical. The site reads the price every company publishes and records what a month actually buys, which is frequently not the number on the marketing page.
"A price is not honest just because it is printed," Rael said. "Some of the companies we looked at sell a 'month' that is not a calendar month — usually four weeks, which is thirteen billing cycles a year rather than twelve — and others never define the period at all. Fewer than half hold one price across every dose, so for the rest the number climbs as the dose goes up. Ask what the highest dose costs before you commit."
Across the companies that publish a price, compounded semaglutide ran $69 to $500 a month, median $179, and compounded tirzepatide ran $83 to $717, median about $240. Around seventy of the companies reviewed offer the FDA-approved brands, and about ninety are available in all 50 states. Every figure here is as of the date of this release; the site rechecks them as the market moves, and the current full directory is free and carries no registration wall.
What the site covers
The guides are organized around the subjects mothers search for, including pregnancy and conception, breastfeeding, postpartum, PCOS, and perimenopause and menopause. Each one cites the official prescribing label or published clinical research, all of it listed in full, and every page states that MamaGLP publishes information rather than medical advice, and points the reader to her own clinician.
