Hypertronics Celebrates 40 Years of Performance, Reliability and Innovation

Hypertronics Corporation, a Smiths Interconnect business and world-leading provider of high performance interconnect solutions for the most demanding applications, today announced that it is celebrating its fortieth year providing innovative interconnect solutions. Hypertronics opened its doors June 1, 1970, and over the last forty years has grown from a small independent operation to a multi-million dollar global corporation supplying ultra reliable Hypertac® technology to top military, space and medical customers who rely on the reliability, innovation, and performance that characterize the Hypertronics brand.

Hypertronics began as a small distribution operation in 1970. Seven years later the company moved to a larger facility to allow for manufacturing of its own products, and by 1984 Hypertronics experienced tremendous growth and again, relocated to its still current location in Hudson, Massachusetts. Since moving into the Hudson facility, Hypertronics has made three additional expansions to accommodate the increased manufacturing demand and business growth. In 1995, Smiths Group acquired Hypertronics, along with three European manufactures of the Hypertac® hyperboloid design. The four companies, in addition to the already Smiths’ Hypertac Ltd in the UK, formed Smiths Interconnect. Today, Hypertronics’ corporate headquarters is still based in Hudson, Massachusetts with international presence in Europe, Russia, Israel, China and South America.
