Smiths Detection Opens New Training & Service Center for the Americas

Smiths Detection has completed a new Training & Service Center for the Americas at its U.S. headquarters in Edgewood, Maryland. This major facility will greatly improve product training and service capabilities for customers throughout both continents, helping them maximize the use of Smiths Detection systems as part of an overall layered approach to security.

The new 10,400 square foot Center is dedicated to educating and servicing customers from North, Central and South America. Product training and service will focus on the full range of Smiths Detection’s CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear and explosives) and X-ray technologies. The new Center will also provide technical and customer service support in English and Spanish, including consumable and parts orders, return material authorization, and field service dispatch and scheduling. The Center is already handling well over 7,000 customer inquiries a month via phone, email, and web requests.
