Jeannette Ash Named Long-Term Care Section Chair for Illinois Pharmacist Association

CHICAGO - Sept. 27, 2022 - PRLog -- Jeannette Brucks Ash, BS, RPh, MS, Director of Consulting and Clinical Services for Forum Extended Care Services, has been elected as Chair of the Long-Term Care Practitioner Section for the Illinois Pharmacist Association.

During her two-year term, Ash will represent and advocate for the interests and goals of advancing pharmacy standards, enhancing the role of pharmacists, improving the effectiveness of drug use, and resolving public policy issues affecting pharmacists in long-term care.

"With Jeannette's extensive background in long-term care, she is well positioned to parlay that expertise in representing the industry and the specific needs of patient-centered pharmacy services," said Brian Kramer, BS, MBA, RPh, President and CIO of Forum. "Jeannette continues to demonstrate her passion and value in serving older adults and we are honored to have her on our team."

With more than 40 years' experience as a pharmacist and pharmacy executive, Ash has managed pharmacy services in various levels and aspects, including for a large long-term care provider. As a result, she has a particular sensitivity to the needs of long-term care customers and the residents they serve.

Ash started her career as a Staff Pharmacist at St Anne's Hospital in Chicago, and before joining Forum, served as the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services for what is now Presence Health. She is noted for providing exceptional pharmaceutical care through clinical initiatives, patient education, and collaboration, working with a well-developed interdisciplinary team to achieve better outcomes.

She joined Forum in 2015 as a Consultant Pharmacist; her extensive background made her a natural choice to take over as Interim Director in 2021, during the roll-out of Forum's COVID-19 vaccination clinic program to long-term care.

Ash's background also includes stints as an Adjunct Instructor of Pharmacy Practice for Midwestern University's College of Pharmacy and as an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. She is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the North Suburban Pharmacists Association, and the Illinois Pharmacists Association.
