Immersive Reading App With Human Narration For Fun English Learning Launched

Firm Foundation Academy has launched the WholeReader, a fun new way for young readers to learn English as a second language.

North San Juan,United States - October 13, 2022 /PressCable/

The purpose of the new app is to provide children and teenagers from K-12 with an immersive reading experience that will give a boost to their English learning in a way that is both educational and fun. WholeReader contains hundreds of age-appropriate books that have been carefully aligned with word-for-word human narration to offer a combined reading and audio experience.

The launch of the app coincides with a recent investigative report from Medium, which revealed that reading exposes students to a greater range of sentences, grammar, and new vocabulary than any other learning context. Therefore, on a per-minute basis, reading is more beneficial for language acquisition than watching a television show and even attending a language class.

With this in mind, Firm Foundation Academy wanted to develop an app that could boost a young reader’s English level by as much as five times. As such, WholeReader is based around a daily 45-minute reading structure, which—through its immersive aligned narration—combines the receptivity of both the eye and the ear to maximize vocabulary acquisition.

The app also boasts integrated vocabulary assessments and smart data algorithms that help it pitch books at a level which will both meet a student’s appropriate edge and help to extend their reading comprehension skills.

For parents and/or teachers who are hoping to track the progress of their child or student, the app also generates daily activity reports.

WholeReader has also been developed with cross-curricular learning in mind and, as such, the books included in the app fall into an array of categories including poetry, novels and non-fiction history, science and philosophy.

WholeReader is a new app from Firm Foundation Academy, an organization devoted to improving literacy and English language learning outcomes for students around the world.

One happy young user said, “With WholeReader, you don’t just read a book, you listen to it too and it helps you improve your pronunciation. I am learning many new words every day, which I would never have been able to do while learning English at school.”
