Unraveling the Popularity and Fascination with the Apocalypse

Ocala, Florida Aug 9, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - In recent years, there has been a noticeable surge in the popularity of end-time-specific blogs, podcasts, TV programs, and movies. From various forms of media, one theme stands out: the fascination with the Apocalypse or the end of days. There are many who have wondered why such content is capturing the public's imagination and why individuals seem increasingly drawn to narratives revolving around apocalyptic scenarios.

While many have wondered why; author, pastor, and apologist Kenneth Behr has written two new books to address the subject from a Biblical basis.  In addition, Behr has renamed his popular video and audio podcast "Prophecy Countdown."

Behr said, "Since we renamed our podcast Prophecy Countdown, our weekly views and downloads are up over 500%. This is definitely an indication of both the fascination with the Apocalypse as well as the growth of the digital age, where access to information has become easier than ever before."

People can now find an abundance of content catering to their specific interests and beliefs, including various opinions and speculation on the idea of the end of the world. "While there are many opinions on this topic, I do not want to merely give my opinion. The Bible is the greatest source of information on the end times, which many people call 'The Apocalypse'" Behr said. "I added the words "and Coming Kingdom" to the title of my new book, "The Apocalypse and Coming Kingdom", as what we really need to understand is the coming kingdom of God and how it is different from what we may expect or are currently experiencing."

The fascination with the Apocalypse is neither entirely new nor exclusively Christian. Religious texts from various faiths have long contained prophecies and stories about the end of the world. As a result, religious beliefs, cultural upbringing, and apocalyptic expectations play a significant role in fueling interest in end-time narratives. Those who grew up with religious teachings about the end of days may find comfort, validation, or a sense of urgency when consuming content that aligns with their beliefs.

"My teaching style is to explain Biblical prophecy in a way that illuminates.  I explain that the Bible has a 3,500-year history of faithfully predicting future events and that more than 25% of the Bible is actually prophetic." And Behr adds, "The return of Jesus Christ is the greatest prophecy unfulfilled, and the Bible has a clear roadmap of the signs and the times.   Considering the rebirth of Israel in 1948, which was also predicted more than 2,500 years ago, we can zero in on the timeline."

Behr is a best-selling author, and two different publishers released different versions in paperback and on Kindle in the month of June 2023: "The Apocalypse and Coming Kingdom," published by Xulon Press Christian Publishing (a division of Salem Media Group), and "A Coming Apocalypse? The Catholic Bible has the Answer" by St. Silvanus Catholic Press. "I wanted to get this teaching out to Evangelicals, Protestants, and Roman Catholics.  Many in the pews of our churches have never heard a sermon or teaching on what the Bible has to say about the end times," said Behr.

We asked, "How long do you plan on teaching about the apocalypse, the end of days, and the Book of Revelation?  Behr answered, "Until what has been prophesied becomes a wonderful reality."

The author's new books are available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and select Christian and Catholic bookstores.  His website is www.prophecycountdownpodcast.com/.
