Porbeagle, a new sneaker brand inspired by the qualities of sharks has launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring its unique collection of shoes to the market. The brand seeks to offer high-quality sneakers that embody the qualities of strength, fun, growth and trust.
Porbeagle's founder, Rick Baltus, has put his heart and passion into creating a sneaker that is not only stylish but also comfortable to wear. The Porbeagle sneaker is named after a little-known species of shark that is long-lived and covers thousands of miles. The shoe's design features the gills on the side and the stitches in the shape of a fin, representing growth and strength. On the back of the sneaker is the shape of a tree, which stands for growth, personal development, and the growth of the brand. The brand also embodies fun, which is reflected in the orange features on the shoe.
Porbeagle sneakers are made of premium-quality suede leather and are handcrafted by skilled lifelong shoemakers in a sustainable workshop in Felgueiras, Portugal. The shoemakers are paid fairly and treated like family, maintaining a high standard of ethics. The brand is committed to empowering the local industry, reducing transport distances, and avoiding the harmful effects of Chromium on the shoemakers and the environment.
Backers of the Kickstarter campaign will receive different perks based on their pledge, including discounts on the retail price of the sneakers. The early-bird pledge of €140 or more (approximately $155) will entitle backers to one pair of Porbeagle sneakers, saving them 40% (€80) off the retail price. The higher the pledge, the more pairs of sneakers a backer will receive, with savings of up to 43% per pair.
According to Baltus, "It takes motivation, determination, and mental strength to move forward not only for a shark but also for us humans."
