Veritas today announced its role in supporting government agencies in the distribution of recovered digital assets to verified victims, following the recovery of $68 million in stolen cryptocurrency through coordinated, multi- jurisdictional enforcement operations conducted by law enforcement agencies across North America, Europe, Australia and other international jurisdictions.
The recovery is the result of extensive investigations into several large-scale crypto fraud operations, including Windbrown, Worldtradecenter, Interabrokers, Wizecapital, Finixcapital, Askobid, Europemarkets, Commercewealth, Profitix, Activebrokerz and and several other operations which collectively defrauded victims in multiple countries through deceptive investment schemes and sophisticated blockchain-based laundering networks. These operations targeted individuals and organizations, promising high returns on cryptocurrency investments while concealing fraudulent practices behind seemingly legitimate digital platforms.
According to Veritas:
- $68 million has been successfully recovered and secured under active law enforcement oversight.
-Several perpetrators have been identified and apprehended, with criminal proceedings now underway.
- Additional suspects remain at large and are the subject of ongoing international investigations.
- More than $137 million in additional assets have been traced to other operational team members currently on the run.
The operation relied on a combination of advanced blockchain forensic analysis, intelligence sharing across jurisdictions, and judicial cooperation, enabling investigators to trace on-chain activity to real-world identities, operational infrastructure, and the networks that facilitated these crimes. By linking digital transactions to tangible evidence, authorities were able to locate and seize stolen funds, disrupt ongoing fraud schemes, and hold perpetrators accountable.
"This is not just a recovery-it's accountability," said a spokesperson for Veritas. "This marks a significant recovery effort and demonstrates that coordinated enforcement efforts can dismantle even complex, cross-border crypto fraud networks. It also sends a clear message that victims of crypto fraud can have recourse and that perpetrators cannot operate with impunity."
Law enforcement partners confirmed that active cases remain open, with further arrests, asset seizures, and indictments anticipated as international cooperation continues. The
investigation highlights the growing importance of collaboration between blockchain experts, financial authorities, and international policing agencies in addressing the global threat of cryptocurrency fraud.
Veritas emphasized that its role is to support government agencies in the process of distributing recovered funds to verified victims, many of whom were impacted across multiple jurisdictions. The organization provides support and infrastructure to help facilitate the restitution process once assets have been recovered through official law- enforcement and government processes.
"For victims, this proves recovery is possible," the spokesperson added. "For perpetrators, this sends a clear warning: crypto fraud is traceable, and there is no safe haven."
With over $137 million in traced assets now under active investigation, Veritas stated that additional enforcement actions are expected and will be announced as legal processes permit. The organization reiterated its commitment to transparency, victim advocacy, and collaboration with government agencies and law enforcement to help ensure that recovered digital assets are
ultimately returned to their rightful owners whenever legally possible.
