Unfortunately, we don’t all have a professional celebrity nail artist on the other end of the phone when we’re in need of a new set of nails. But luckily for you (and us!) glazed donut nails are easy enough to achieve at home and all it really takes are a few nail products!
Mylee’s step-by-step on Glazed Donut Nails:
Step 1: As with any manicure, you should first apply a base coat to your nails (after the usual nail prepping routine) to help the colour gel polish adhere better, so that you can savour these sweet glazed nails for as long as possible.
The MyGel Base Coat is our recommended choice for obvious reasons! Apply one layer and cure underneath a UV lamp (for 120 seconds) or a LED lamp (for 30-60 seconds).
Step 2: Next on the menu: your base colour! Once your base coat is cured, you will need to choose and apply your neutral base colour.
Hailey Bieber’s glazed donut nails were achieved using a sheer milky pink shade, almost identical to our Mylee Strawberry Milkshake Gel Polish, but you could totally opt for a different base depending on your preference of nail colour.
Go for a sheer white, like Mylee’s Ghosting Gel Polish, if you want a more pearly look overall, or choose a pale nude for a more natural and subtle look (Mylee Cream On Top Gel Polish is the perfect creamy nude for this).
Once you’ve applied your neutral base colour of choice, make sure to cure the coat with a UV or LED lamp.
Step 3: Now you’ve got your base colour laid down, it’s time to start working on that oh-so-sweet glaze!
