Private companies in the U.S. are in the process of developing a remotely controlled plane capable of traveling at hypersonic speed. These new developments would have a significant impact on the United States’ military readiness.

Another rapidly developing field within the technology sector is 3-D printing, also referred to as additive manufacturing. The military began experimenting with it in January 2021.
