Neurologist Naomi Feuer named a 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctor

Naomi T. Feuer, MD, has been recognized as a 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, the fourth year she has received the Top Doctor honor.

NEW YORK, NY, July 29, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Naomi T. Feuer, MD, has been recognized as a 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, the fourth year she has received the Top Doctor honor. Only about 7 percent of the nation's licensed physicians are selected as Castle Connolly Top Doctors in their regions for their specialties.

Dr. Feuer is a neurologist with New York Physicians, where she diagnoses and treats patients with many types of neurological (brain-related) conditions. She has special expertise in neuromuscular disorders and electromyography (EMG), technology used to measure the electrical activity present in the muscles.

Dr. Feuer sees patients with conditions that include migraine and headache disorders; spinal disorders; nerve injuries; autonomic nervous system disorders (dysautonomia); back and neck pain; myofascial and neuropathic pain syndromes, including neuropathy; radiculopathy; hypermobility spectrum disorders; and concussion.

"Patients may have back pain, numbness, tingling, headaches, neck pain, weakness, or concussive symptoms, or chronic conditions such as diffuse body pain, neuropathy, or a connective tissue disorder. They may just not feel 'like themselves' and don't know where else to turn," Dr. Feuer says. "I welcome each case as a challenge, diving into the particulars of each patient's history with the goal being to provide clues that can help my patient achieve both answers to, and relief from, their symptoms or condition."

Her goal is to provide each of her patients with undivided attention and first-rate professionalism.

"Fundamentally, my guiding principles are empathy and understanding. Each individual who presents to me for a neurological evaluation is dealing with a concern that is of paramount importance to them and it is likely their most pressing issue," Dr. Feuer says. "As their neurologist, my goal is to be by their side every step of the way. I collaborate with them to design a customized diagnostic and treatment plan that will address their symptoms and manage their condition with the goal of achieving the best possible result."

Dr. Feuer earned her medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed a neurology residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, as well as a clinical neurophysiology fellowship (with a subspecialty in electromyography and neuromuscular disease) at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

"Throughout my training, I have always been fascinated by the mind-body connection and this is also incorporated into my skill set when caring for patients," she says. "The study of and application of neuroscience is not only a medical practice. It has the capacity to reveal a gateway to our common humanity, and it is this humanity that is essential to the scientific study of the brain."

Top Doctors are nominated by peer physicians and selected by the physician-led Castle Connolly research team.

"I am honored and grateful to be named Castle Connolly Top Doctor for four years running now. This distinction is very meaningful to me as I am constantly striving to deliver unsurpassed care. There is, however, no greater reward than helping my patients and leading them to a path of a healthier and happier life on their journey to healing," Dr. Feuer says.

Dr. Feuer is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and The World Muscle Society, and she is part of the International Consortium of Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders Neurology Working Group.
