Canadian Immigration Experts Offer Free Consultations for International Students

Canadian Immigration Services have praised the success of a fast-track study permit approval scheme for international students and offered free initial consultations for potential applicants.

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) program, which is designed to speed up the processing of study permits for students from certain countries, has been a huge success since it was unveiled in 2018. Canadian Immigration Services has helped scores of students gain their fast-track permits.

The program was formulated by Immigration, Refuges and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Young people from Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, St Vincent and the Grenadines. Trinidad and Tobago or Vietnam, who want to study in Canada are all eligible to use the SDS program.

A spokesman from Canadian Immigration Services said the new service was working extremely well, but there were still strict criteria for those who wanted to apply and it was important applicants got the application process right.

“Those who apply for through SDS can expect that their permits will be processed a lot quicker than regular permit applications. Students who want to apply through the SDS system must have a letter of acceptance from a post-secondary school, college or university that is recognised by the Canadian government.

“Students will have to pay their first year of tuition fees upfront and prove they can support themselves financially while they are living and studying in Canada. There is a minimum amount, but that varies based upon how many family members are accompanying the student. This is something we can discuss and advise students and their families as they embark on the application process.

“Once the key criteria have been met, the application can be done online and applicants can expect to hear within around 20 days whether they have been successful. Applying for a permit to study in another country can be overwhelming for many, so this is where we come in and help with the whole process.

“We have been helping students with their study permits for more than 10 years and we have assisted hundreds of successful students under the new SDS system. We would urge any students who are unsure about how to start the process to get in touch for a no obligation chat,” he added.

Those who are successful in the SDS application process are also eligible to work in Canada while they are studying and during the term breaks to help cover their living expenses and gain work experience in Canada.
