United States - July 23, 2026 - Author Rhonda Gillilan has released her new romance novel, "August Rain," now available as an ebook on Amazon.
The story follows Jolene Winters, a young woman who survives a bad car accident that occured during a storm and wakes up with no memory of who she is. A man named Devon Gifford, the stranger who pulled her from the wreck, stays close to help her piece her life back together. As her memory slowly returns, the two grow closer, working through her family, her fears, and a fast-moving, passionate relationship neither one expected.
Gillilan says she has loved romance stories since she was a little girl. "I've loved romance stories since I was a child," she said. "By the time I was 15, I was already imagining stories while waiting for the school bus and watching the winter skies. Writing August Rain allowed me to turn that lifelong dream into a story about hope, healing, and finding love during difficult times."
She kept that love of writing through college, where she studied creative writing. Years later, an actual storm gave her the idea for the book, and that same storm became the heart of the story.
Gillilan dedicates "August Rain" to the memory of her late mother, her daughters Cahrista and Sarah, her husband of 41 years, and her faith. She says their support carried her through finishing the book.
"August Rain" is written for readers who enjoy romance stories about family, healing, and second chances, with a sensual relationship at the center.
