According to many involved, the answer is a resounding ‘yes.'
"Everyone has seen Cuba's incredible humility and love for God," says the director Timothy Chey. "He's done podcasts with people who have only 33 followers because he wants people to find Christ."
In the film Cuba Gooding Jr's character plays a smooth ex-drug dealer who has no moral conscience. After he finds Christ, his character arc changes dramatically. "It took a death sentence to get me straight with God," his character Samuel says.
The film is based on the true story of ex-drug dealers who find Christ in a third world prison and win the prison camp to Christ.
The motiff of the movie is redemption and how no one is beyond redemption in God.
Cuba recommitted his life to Christ on the set and helped lead 28 people to Christ at the end of the Los Angeles premiere in March.
"Listen," says Tim Chey, "whereever he goes, people love him and he takes the time to listen to them. He never blows off anyone. He takes selfies and signs autographs. What Oscar-winner does this?"
With mass shootings, violent robberies, police officers killed, looting in stores, the world is looking for a savior. ‘The Firing Squad' movie is a tear-jerker with a stunning ending that has gripped the entire nation.
