Rokid Partners with CaringKind to Explore Accessibility Through AI Glasses at New York's 37th Annual Alzheimer's Walk

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 20, 2025 / Rokid, a pioneer in human-computer interaction and augmented reality, participated in the 37th Annual CaringKind New York City Alzheimer's Walk & Brain Health Day in Central Park. The event, organized by CaringKind, New York City's leading expert on Alzheimer's and dementia caregiving, brought together thousands of participants to raise awareness, support caregivers, and promote brain health.

Expanding Collaboration on Accessibility Innovation

Building on an ongoing partnership, Rokid and CaringKind are working together to explore how emerging technologies can support individuals affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. Earlier this quarter, representatives from both organizations took part in an "AI Glasses for Social Good" podcast during Rokid's product launch in New York, where they discussed the potential of Rokid Glasses, the world's lightest full-function AI and AR smart glasses, to improve accessibility and assistive communication.

At this year's Walk, Rokid extended that dialogue into a real-world setting. Participants, caregivers, and CaringKind team members were invited to experience Rokid Glasses firsthand, testing features such as live transcription, real-time translation, object recognition, and voice memo. Attendees shared feedback on how these functions could aid daily caregiving, improve communication, and enhance independence for those living with cognitive decline.

"Our collaboration with CaringKind reflects Rokid's belief that AI and AR can meaningfully serve the community," said Irene Long, Head of Global Operations of Rokid. "We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with caregivers and advocates who are shaping a future where technology supports empathy, understanding, and independence."

Technology Designed for Empathy and Inclusion

Rokid Glasses integrated all the AI-powered functions into a lightweight 49-gram ergonomic frame. Designed to improve communication, navigation, and situational awareness, these features are especially useful in assistive and caregiving settings. CaringKind representatives emphasized that new wearable technologies like Rokid Glasses could make caregiving more intuitive and accessible, improving the quality of communication and interactions between people and their environment.

Among the attendees was Jed A. Levine, President Emeritus of CaringKind, who personally tested the Rokid Glasses during the event. After exploring the device's AI-based accessibility features, Levine appreciated Rokid's support and presence at the Walk, noting the potential of technology in raising awareness and promoting inclusion and connection in caregiving moments.

Now in its 37th year, the CaringKind Alzheimer's Walk remains New York City's longest-running Alzheimer's awareness event. This year's Walk combined fundraising with on-site health activities and educational programs to advance dementia care and brain health across the city.

Building on a Year of Global Recognition

The collaboration with CaringKind follows a landmark year for Rokid. The company's flagship product, Rokid Glasses, recently concluded a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign that raised over US $3.6 million, setting a new global benchmark for XR crowdfunding. The product also recently earned the "Product of the Year" and "Golden Prize" at the 2025 Hong Kong Electronic Industries Awards, recognizing its design excellence and technological innovation.
