Federman & Sherwood investigates Hartz Mountain Corporation (“Hartz”) for data breach. On October 18, 2024, Hartz filed notice of a data breach with the Attorney General of Maine. Hartz experienced a cybersecurity incident involving their computer system on March 7, 2024. Hartz immediately launched an investigation into the incident. A review of information gathered during the investigation determined that certain individuals personal and sensitive information was exposed and/or acquired by an unauthorized third party.

The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Full Name
  • Social Security Number
  • Other sensitive information

On October 18, 2024, Hartz began mailing notices to the affected individuals.

Hartz Mountain Corporation is a pet care company that makes products for dogs, cats, birds, and small animals.
