Emerson Companies and Philip Roper today announced the grand opening of The River Apartments, a new 201-unit luxury apartment community located in Chester, Virginia.

The ribbon-cutting event, held on Monday, May 11, featured local dignitaries including County Administrator Joe Casey and Board of Supervisors members Jim Ingle (Bermuda District) and Mark Miller (Midlothian District).

Located at 1350 Meadowville Technology Parkway near the James River and Meadowville Technology Park, the pet-friendly community offers 201 apartment homes with one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 615 to 1,489 square feet. Apartment homes feature energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, LVP flooring, oversized closets and full-size washers and dryers. Select residences also include private patios or balconies, dual vanities, floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive kitchen islands.

Designed with both comfort and connectivity in mind, The River features a full suite of lifestyle amenities, including a saltwater pool with sundeck, state-of-the-art fitness center, grilling stations, landscaped courtyards with fire pits, resident lounge and conference space for remote work and collaboration.

The community was also designed to achieve National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Silver certification, reflecting the development team’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

The project team included 2PA as architect, Highmark Engineering as civil engineer, KBS as general contractor, Focus Design as interior designer and Cite Design as landscape architect. Burke & Herbert Bank provided construction financing.

Property management services for The River Apartments will be provided by Capital Square Living.
