While professional repair services are easy to reach nowadays, the guide stresses that some issues may need immediate attention and can easily be fixed with basic tools. As such, movers should make sure to unpack their toolbox as soon as they arrive.
Movers.com also recommends thoroughly cleaning the home before unpacking and arranging the furniture. Basic cleaning supplies, such as sponges, disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and a bucket, should be unpacked as soon as possible - and the home should be cleaned from top to bottom, starting with dusting and vacuuming.
When it comes to unpacking room by room, the guide suggests starting with the kitchen. The boxes with kitchen supplies should be clearly labeled for easy unpacking - so basic pots, pans, and cutlery can be easily reached for a home-cooked meal even on the first night.
