Florence SC Travel App and Top Tourist Destinations Featured in New Travel Guide

The Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau (843-664-0330) has published a new guide on the Visit Flo app, a tourism app that can be downloaded at no cost for Apple and Android devices.

The new guide from the Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau lists the five “must-see” tourist attraction spots in Florence, South Carolina, a city at the heart of the Pee Dee region. It also introduces Visit Flo, a travel app designed to provide up-to-date information about these featured locales.

Visit Flo guides users to other historical and family-friendly locations in Florence, including the Florence Veterans Park, which features several sculptures by Alex Palkovich; the Lynches River County Park, known for the Environmental Discovery Center where visitors can learn about the local ecosystem; and the Palmetto Peddler, an antique mall with a diverse array of vintage treasures and collectibles.

The Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau created Visit Flo to help tourists and residents learn more about this vibrant city. They explain that while bigger cities in the state, such as Charleston and Columbia, are more well-known, Florence offers a charming combination of classic architecture and attractions with modern business franchises.

A bureau spokesperson states, "This comprehensive travel and tourism app provides detailed listings of dining options, shopping venues, outdoor activities, events, and much more, complete with navigation assistance and Google Reviews."

Located at the intersection of I-95 and I-20, Florence is an ideal tourist destination for anyone who enjoys nature and beautiful parks. For example, Timrod Park is a serene environment with lush landscapes, walking trails, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and a gazebo. As seen in the Visit Flo app, Timrod Park is a great spot for a relaxing afternoon or family picnic. Its completely renovated playground also makes Timrod Park suitable for families with kids.

Of the five locations featured, the Florence County Museum is the most recommended for families with younger children. The museum features a rich collection of artifacts, artworks, and exhibits that reveal the history of Florence, making it a great entry point for tourists to discover South Carolina. The Florence County Museum also does not charge any entrance fee.
