DropDesk Analysis Suggests Company and Employees Agree on the Importance of Hybrid Work

LONG BEACH, N.Y. - April 27, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Based on an overview and analysis of current trends, DropDesk believes that Company and Employee perspectives are converging on the importance of hybrid work.

Hybrid work enables teams the ability to work in various environments, which can range from working from home, the office part-time, or even local flexible workspaces. The hybrid workspace model was created as a way to unify both employer and employee demands. 63% of high-growth companies have embraced remote work, (Forbes). Accenture surveyed 9,000 workers, and 83% of them said they would prefer to have a hybrid work model.

Industry resources have analyzed several other factors related to employee performance, retention and impact on commercial real estate.

Impact on Employee Performance:

  • 36.2 million workers or 22% of Americans will be working remotely by the year 2025. This is an 87% increase from pre-pandemic levels (Upwork).
  • According to Pew Research, 71% of all employees in the U.S. worked from home during the pandemic. Before the pandemic, that figure was just 20%. Most (72%) say working from home hasn't affected their ability to advance in their job.
  • 77% of people who work remotely, even occasionally, have improved productivity - of those, 30% work more in less time, and 24% do the same amount of work in less time (ConnectSolutions).

Impact on Employee Retention:

  • Employees have embraced remote work so much that in the U.S. alone, 39% of adults surveyed said they would consider quitting if it was taken off the table. That figure goes up to 49% if you talk to Millennials and Gen Z employees (Microsoft). Remote work has become one of the top factors in attracting and retaining talent in the workforce today.

Impact on Office Space

  • 87% of company decision-makers want to make changes to their corporate real estate in the near future (CBRE).   Most are looking to scale back the size of their offices, as they no longer need as much space - thanks to remote and hybrid work.
  • 60% of managers and decision-makers plan to spend more on digital tools and platforms that allow better collaboration between teams and employees.

Based on an overview and analysis of current trends, DropDesk believes that Company and Employee perspectives are converging on the importance of hybrid work.
