On August 20, 2023, Lakeland Community College learned that unauthorized activity was reported on certain internal IT systems. On September 19, 2023, Lakeland Community College notified 285,948 affected individuals that their personal information may have been accessed or acquired by an unknown unauthorized person. Based on their preliminary investigation, an unknown party accessed those systems between March 7, 2023 and March 31, 2023. According to Lakeland Community College, the impacted information varies by individual, and may have included: names and social security numbers.
