Five recognized for excellence in real estate law

Five Moody Law Group attorneys have been recognized in the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, a widely respected guide to the nation’s top attorneys.

Firm founder John S. Moody, Jr. and attorneys Julie Barry, Kelly Beaudry, Tania Hovel and Robert Walker were cited once again for excellence in real estate law.

In his eighth year to be recognized, Mr. Moody’s expertise is real estate development, leasing, acquisitions, sales and financing. Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he represents developers, owners, families, financial institutions, investors, retailers and private equity funds.

Ms. Barry focuses on transaction law and representing small and midsized enterprises. This is her third year to be recognized by The Best Lawyers in America.

Ms. Beaudry was honored for a third year in the Best Lawyers guide. She handles a wide range of real estate transactions, including purchase and sale, land development, leasing and loan-related work.

Ms. Hovel focuses on commercial transactions, including retail, office and industrial leasing; acquisitions; sales and development; finance; and general corporate matters. This is her fourth consecutive year on The Best Lawyers in America list.

Mr. Walker has been a Best Lawyers honoree every year since 2008. His work includes representing banks and lenders in commercial lending, including construction and mini-perm loans for projects such as apartments, condominiums, retail shopping centers and medical office buildings.
