Air Transport Services Group is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Hete Family Scholarship, an educational scholarship program established to support ATSG employees and their families as they pursue higher education and technical career pathways.

The Hete Family Scholarship awards $6,000 scholarships to ATSG employees and children of employees up to 22 years of age who are pursuing technical, associate, or bachelor's degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), medical, business, or technical and vocational fields of study.

The 2026 Hete Family Scholarship recipients are:

  • Emma Waters from Martinsville, Ohio on behalf of ATSG
  • Dafney Villanueva from Upland, California on behalf of LGSTX Services
  • Raider Reynolds from Batavia, Ohio on behalf of ABX Air
  • Darby Rossler from Tulsa, Oklahoma on behalf of Omni Air International
  • Damien Gardner from Freeport, Illinois on behalf of Air Transport International
  • Paul Figueroa from Wesley Chapel, Florida on behalf of Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services

This year’s scholarship program received 67 applications representing employees and families from 17 different states, reflecting the continued commitment across ATSG companies to education, workforce development, and creating opportunities for future generations.

“The future of our industry depends on investing in people who are willing to learn, grow, and lead,” said Greg Mays, president and chief executive officer of ATSG. “The Hete Family Scholarship recognizes students who are pursuing meaningful careers that will strengthen not only aviation and business, but also the communities where our employees live and work. We are proud to support their educational journey.”

The scholarship was established by Joe Hete and the Hete family to help encourage continued education and career advancement among ATSG employees and their families. Scholarship recipients may reapply for renewal consideration up to three additional times, though renewal is not guaranteed.

“Education and opportunity have always been important to our company culture,” said Joe Hete, former chief executive officer and current member of the ATSG Board of Directors. “These students represent the next generation of innovators, technicians, business leaders, and professionals who will continue moving industries and communities forward.”

ATSG continues to support workforce development initiatives across its companies through scholarships, technical training programs, internships, apprenticeships, aviation education partnerships, and community engagement initiatives designed to create pathways into high-demand careers.
